Drop point blades are a very popular all-purpose shape because they offer great control while cutting and slicing. The lowered point on the blade provides overall control and adds strength to the tip of the knife which is perfect for tactical or survival use. The tip on a drop point however will not have the same penetration power as a clip point or tanto.
